Right, so far the banner Dawn speaks about has remained totally secret, and I suppose you'll see that when it's up at the Fishmarket. HOWEVER, desgning a poster is a completely different thing for me to which I'd like some feedback to what could be changed or included in anyway. So here you go guys, this is the first prototype of the A1 poster for the exhibition.

Image

I'm personally not convinced with the white box around the text, I can't think of how to change it but it is like 11pm, so my creative cap is disabled right now...

EDIT: This is only the example copy, I'm going to work on something more exciting tomorrow since i've got the full day (other than 6-9 evening at work) off. Not only should it be attractive but I should really be doing something for myself as a designer to stand out.....MORE COMING SOON :)

Good start Alex, may be less words? less is more maybe and bigger text .. just to let people know its a photo exhibition, where and when kind of thing..

and you should have a credit on the poster that people can see or a website addy or something...

Ugh, the things I make at gone 11 in the night....now I see why I didn't like it! LOL.
Anyway, less words for certain, as for credit I have write "Designed by Alex Alexandrou" at the bottom in tiiinnyyyyyy little letters but thats because the version you see is for the A1 poster and the printer should pick it up and will be larger to read, website....well that's coming soon :).

Will keep this updated as it progresses!

I'd agree with Dawn - you can point them to the fishmarket website for perhaps further info..

And yes, you deserve the credit for the hard work you're putting into it :)

I'm a techy - others do our web designs lol, but I'm with the less is more camp :)

I'm hoping this isn't too over the top, but, I used my designer side and used a lot of out-of-computer sources for a raw look :).

Haha sure here you go. I copied the logo from the website so that it was exact!

If you want the exact words "Fishmarket Gallery" I'll have to change a couple things. As it is now, I've got the officially designed logo in place and it only has "Fishmarket", is this okay or shall I edit it to have that?

Image

If this version is okay for you, confirm there are no errors and I'll email you the A1 file in an email.
Would you like the same image as an A4 format - or will that need editing?

and you said you wanted a blank one? How do you need that?

((slight edit: the website at the bottom credited to me is actually live now, I need to fix bugs + add some pages yet as it's not fully completed! www.rapidrat.co.uk))

Excellent, thanks Alex!
can we have that in A1 and A4 please and blank as in everything except fishmarket exhibition stuff and dates so that I can add text to it as when we need to, that way I won't have to hound you forever LOL

Many thanks for doing this... we now have 26 people exhibiting :-)

Love the posters Alex.

Not sure on the background text though - personally Im not sure it links with the photo theme, might be confusing to passers by?

I think I prefer the details on the first with font for body and logos in the 2nd but thats just me. :)

Nice one mate!

You have a good point Wayne, what I'll do is spam Dawn's poor email with 2 sets to pick from! Whatever she believes to be most suitable will be what's chosen :).

Hold in there Dawn, they are going to take a bit to recieve! hahaha

I'm not keen on the newspaper text either. Also, the text on the first one (and I know it came from the fishmarket site) should say the club is, not are, and staging its, not their. I actually preferred the first though, but guess less text is better really

Thanks very much Alex

Thanks for commenting Gwynth! I've mailed Dawn with the untextiled version so I'm guessing that'll be the one to go up. As for the first.....blame Dawn :D
