I'm not entirely convinced it was my boomed flash that helped to light the floor, or putting the bigger light as the main one, but what do you think?

Image

And yes, I don't think they've quite got that pose right (and I only got a couple before they collapsed in a heap..)

Edit...

Right - used the really easy way to find those annoying patches.. well I hope so - you shouldn't be able to find any now..??
Click on the highlight arrow in Lightroom on the histogram - it makes all the blown bits red 8) Think I need some help Wayne on using the clone in LR though, a fair few clicks later, got there in the end but I'm clearly not using it properly...

The floor looks well lit ! Well done... there is an off white patch Matthew's left at the edge on a par to his knee... watch out for those they are really annoying !
So was it just a speed light on the floor?? it seems to have give a fairly good coverage....

As for the pose...its full of life and mischief just as it should be..but watch out for cutting off toes :-)

Yes, I can see that left spot on this monitor at work - and I thought i'd done your trick Nick of moving the laptop screen right back to spot those marks.. Darn it! I can't see the one on the right though...

Yes, see Madeleine's toes slightly cut off, and that wasn't me on the crop - darn it for a second time lol.

This was the SB-800 on the boom camera left overhead brolleyed, pointing roughly centre on 1/4 power, plus the 400w strobe just to camera right about my height (so not high lol) and pointing down. As I say, I'm not sure whether it was the flash or the strobe, cause when I turned the strobe down you could see the floor & join a lot more..

Diane, looks better to me.

LR no problem - few methods can use, one is the Spot Removal tool in Clone mode another is Recovery, but this might affect your over all image too. Lastly you can use the brush to add high exposure to those areas only and thus match you background.

For what you was trying to achieve the simple Spot Removal in Clone mode. Remind me next week and I show how to at my next LR tutorial.

yeah Wayne that's what I did - just in PS I'd have been able to just alt click once and away I paint.. This was lots of clicking so either that's how it works in LR or more than likely I'm doing it wrong lol..

Nice crop... they are so cute :-)

Diane the best way to deal with those off white patches is to take it into PS, add a levels pick up white dropper and click on darkest patch, this will turn the white white and then add a mask and pick up the rubber and rub through just the people :-) job done and that way no off white patches remain!

That's a nice crop Nick, like that..

Dawn, now I've found an easy way to do it in LR, I'll stick with that - click on the highlight, it all goes red, just clone away til the white bits go red too - once I know how to use the LR clone tool properly lol..
