I went down to my parents in Swindon for a few days and walked round Lydiard Park. To my surprise, having not been since moved to Northampton, they have brought back the lake in front of the manor. I was hoping the cloud would clear and I would have the opportunity to try my new filters.

Below is the result, hope you like. All post-processing done in Lightroom, plus some inital work with Nik Viveza plugin for Lightroom which I have been trialing.

Nice Wayne, I love the composition, there's a nice flow going on in there, and the colours are fantastic :)

My one nitpick would be that the right hand side is a little dark, those reeds, grass, could be a little brighter.. But it's only a minor point..

Thanks Diane :)

I glad you mention the reeds, I felt a little dark too, wasnt sure to bring them out a bit as might detract the eye or leave as is. I try a bit of an edit to lighten them slightly and post back laters.

Beautiful colours Wayne.. I agree with Diane, the reeds on the right are very dark and I find that a bit distracting..other than that.. a lovely sutumn scene :-)

Updated with 2nd Edit - is this better?

Also as used ND grad, do you feel the sky is not being reflected accuratley in the water. Grad has made sky dark, but reflection of the sky is brighter than what its reflectiing? Does that make sense?

Yep think this is better, and I don't think the grad is affecting the sky - at least from here it looks balanced to me??

wayne,
also prefer the 2nd pic with the reeds highlighted a bit more. The photo has a lovely autumnal feel about it really like the colours and the sky. I think i know what you mean about the reflection of the sky esp on LHS pic the water is a bit bright in comparison but dont think really matters to overall pic. Don't think sky is always perfectly reflected esp when water is not 100% still and depends on angle of light.

Final edit 03 from a fresh on the RAW, using learnt items from watching todays Viveza tutorials.

Now my issue is finding funds to buy this great plugin. :?
